1/4 of a Year Old!

I cannot believe that Ellen is already three months old (a quarter of the way to 1)! She's still as sweet as ever and continues to make us smile constantly. Ellen has been getting more vocal lately, which is a lot of fun. She's "talking" louder and more frequently and now she actually giggles when she's really excited or if we're lucky enough to find one of her ticklish spots. :)

EVB is getting taller!

Judging by this picture, it looks like Ellen could end up being a redhead...

So big!

12 Weeks Old & Back to Work

Today was a big day ... It was my first day back at work and Ellen turned 12 weeks old. I can't say I had the best day, but hopefully it will get easier. On the bright side, Ellen seemed to do just fine without me.

At 12 weeks, Ellen is:
  • Continuing to win us over with her sweet smiles
  • Still sleeping through the night (11 to 12 hours without interruption!)
  • Using her hands more (sucking on her fingers, grabbing objects and attempting to put things in her mouth)
  • Discovering her legs and kicking them every chance she gets
  • Laughing when we tickle the bottoms of her little feet
Ellen loves sucking on her hands lately.

Ellen had a meltdown just as I was getting set to take her weekly photo* ... She insisted on having her Wubba Nub (a pacifier attached to a stuffed ducky) in the shot.

*This will likely be the last of the weekly chair photos ... I think we'll stick to monthly chair pictures going forward.

Another shot of EVB's beloved Wubba Nub ...

11 Weeks Old!

At 11 weeks, Ellen is still sleeping like a champ at night and seems to be getting a little better at napping during the day.

Ellen looks very comfy and peaceful while she's sleeping ...

and typically wakes up very happy and smiley!

EVB's cheeks are continuing to fill out ...

and tend to get a little droopy when she's sleepy. (If you look closely, you'll see that Ellen is also a little bubble maker these days.)

Ellen looks like a little lady in her denim skirt!

Ellen's New Quilt

Ellen recently received a very special present in the mail: a beautiful quilt that was handmade by her Great Aunt Nancye!
"Thanks for my new quilt, Aunt Nancye!"

Happy 2010 and Happy 10 Weeks

Unfortunately, Ellen was in bed long before the clock struck midnight on New Year's Eve, but we did hear a little coo over the monitor just before 12, so Ellen must have been having her own little party in her crib.
Ellen looked like a little ski bunny on New Year's Day (much to Adam's delight, I'm sure)!

Ellen is now 10 weeks old! She's still sleeping great at night (a minimum of eight hours from the time we put her down), but we're still trying to figure out a nap routine that works well for her. I'm sure we'll get the hang of it soon--hopefully before I go back to work. (I go back two weeks from today; I'm super sad, but since this blog is supposed to be "all about Ellen," I'll share my woes elsewhere ...)

Ellen looks like such a big girl sitting in her chair!

Ellen's neck is getting much stronger thanks to tummy time ...

But sometimes she can't resist taking a break to chew on her arm.
